I am a mixed media artist with a particular interest in textiles and fibers. I collect materials that would otherwise have been discarded, and use them as the basis for my work. I see myself as a collage artist, in the way that I combine forms and mix different materials. I work intuitively, following the materials where they lead me and responding as in a dialogue. In that way, the making of each piece becomes an almost spiritual practice, as I meditate on the journey that each piece of material took from its raw form, to its manufacturer, and ultimately in my hands. I seek to honour and respect the materials and the environment by letting this guide my work.
